Umaibo mascot dresses as Monogatari characters in crossover campaign
Namco began streaming a promotional video on Friday for the crossover between its line of Umaibo puffed corn snacks and NisiOisin‘s Monogatari Series Second Season anime television.
The first part of the video parodies the second promotional video featuring Nadeko Sengoku for Otorimonogatariwhile the second part parodies scenes of Deishū Kaiki from Koimonogatari.
The promotion, which will run from February 8 through March 11, includes a give-away where applicants can win an autographed set of NisiOisin‘s original Monogatari novel series, Umaibo snacks, character tapestries, or a character poster. The specially-packaged Umaibo, which feature the mascot Umaemon dressed as the various Monogatari Series Second Season characters, come in corn soup flavor and salami flavor. Each one also comes packaged with one of two exclusive A4 size clear files.
Namco previously ran a similar campaign for Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- in October.
The “second season” arc of the Monogatari series covered the material from five volumes of the original light novel series.
The series premiered in Japan in July, and Daisuki and Crunchyroll streamed the series outside of Japan. Aniplex of America announced in June that it has acquired the rights to both Nekomonogatari (Black) and Monogatari Series Second Season.
